AI Visibility Audit
Find out why AI recommends your competitors, and what to change first.
An AI visibility audit tells you how ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude describe your brand, whether they recommend you when a buyer asks, and why they pick someone else. Mine takes ten business days, costs $4,500 flat, and ends with a readout and a 90-day roadmap your team can run without me.
Who this is for
Marketing leaders at B2B and B2C brands who've noticed AI assistants answering questions about their category without mentioning them, or mentioning them wrong. Most of my audits are for companies with a real product, a real competitor set, and a team that will do the work once they know what it is. If you're pre-launch, a workshop is the better first step.
What I test
- The prompt landscape. Forty to sixty prompts your buyers use, written with you, run across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude. I test the first answer and the third turn, because a brand that shows up in the shortlist and disappears when the buyer narrows down has a different problem than one that never appears.
- Memory versus search. Each engine with browsing on and off, so you know whether the machines know you or are looking you up fresh every time.
- Competitor benchmark. Three to five named competitors run through the same prompts, scored the same way.
- Coherence across channels. Your site, LinkedIn, review sites, directories, press, and the third-party pages the engines cite. Where the story about your company disagrees with itself, the engines hedge or skip you.
- Entity and schema diagnosis. What the engines have resolved about you as an entity, what's missing, and what's contradictory.
- Content assessment. The pages the engines cite, the pages they should cite and don't, and why.
What you get
- A written audit (usually 25 to 40 pages) with every prompt, every verdict, and every source URL, so you can check my work.
- A scored competitor benchmark.
- A prioritized fix list: what moves the number first, what can wait.
- A 90-day roadmap with owners and sequencing.
- A 90-minute readout with your team, recorded.
- One 30-minute check-in call 30 days after the readout.
How it works
- Day 1. Scoping call: your buyers, your competitors, the prompts that matter.
- Days 2 to 6. Testing across four engines, memory and search, turn 1 and turn 3.
- Days 7 and 8. Coherence, entity, and content review.
- Day 9. Written audit and roadmap delivered.
- Day 10. Readout with your team.
Price
$4,500, fixed. Half at kickoff, half at delivery. Travel isn't needed; the readout runs on Zoom, or on site for an added travel fee if you'd rather have me in the room. Ongoing tracking isn't included; I'll show you how to set it up or point you at tools that do it.
How this differs from a tracking tool
Tracking tools tell you how often you're mentioned. The audit tells you why, across the sources the engines are reading, and what to change. Most of my clients run a tracking tool after the audit so they can see the fixes land.
"Can't we do this ourselves?"
Yes, and I sell a kit for that. The workbook, the prompt pack, and a recorded walkthrough are $199 on the resources page, and plenty of teams run it and never call me. The teams that hire me for the full audit usually want three things the kit can't give them: a defensible number they can put in front of leadership, an outside read on how coherent the brand looks from the machine's side (hard to see from inside), and the work done in ten days instead of a quarter. If you're not sure which you need, book the fit call and I'll tell you.
Frequently asked questions
How much does an AI visibility audit cost?
$4,500, fixed price, for a brand with up to five named competitors. Larger competitor sets or multiple product lines are scoped on the fit call.
How long does it take?
Ten business days from the scoping call to the readout.
Which AI engines are included?
ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude, each tested with browsing on and off. Google AI Overviews and AI Mode are covered in the content assessment.
What do you need from us?
One scoping call, your competitor list, and access to your analytics if you want the traffic side included.
Do you implement the fixes?
Not in the audit. If you want me around while your team does the work, that's the 90-day advisory on the consulting page.
What if we already have a GEO vendor?
Good. The audit runs alongside a tracking vendor; it explains the numbers they're showing you.
Send me your URL and your top competitor and I'll tell you on the fit call whether the audit is the right first step.
